At Nepal Jail Ministry (NJM), our mission is to restore dignity, rebuild hope, and create real opportunities for transformation for prisoners, formerly incarcerated individuals, and their families.
We work to ensure that prisons become spaces of learning, healing, and personal reform—not merely punishment. Through education, vocational and skill-based training, psychological and emotional counseling, life-skills development, and family support, we address the deeper challenges that lead individuals toward crime and the barriers they face when returning to society.
We seek not only to help individuals complete their sentences, but to help them rebuild their lives with confidence, responsibility, and purpose.
The Department’s rehabilitation framework focuses on transforming inmates into responsible, self-reliant individuals prepared for life after release. Through structured interventions, the programs address educational, psychological, social, and practical needs to promote lasting reform.
Nepal Jail Ministry began from a deeply personal experience in my childhood when I encountered the reality of prison life through my own family.
From a young age, I came to understand that:

Through direct encounters with prisoners, I realized that many are not defined by their crimes, but by circumstances, struggles, and moments of weakness.
Today, NJM exists to restore hope, rebuild lives, and create new opportunities for those who feel forgotten.
